5 more days....

Yesterday I recieved a phone call from CCAI to update me on conditions at Nanchang SWI.She said that the orphange has running water and heat.I asked if Sophie was still in foster care and she said that the foster families have no heat in thier apartments so they all moved into the orphange. It must be cozy in there with all those families and.She also said that Nanchang was not hit as hard as other places in China but it is still very cold. The weather was suppose to slowly get better.Well thats' good to know as we were wondering just how bad it was going to be when we got there.I wonder if it could maybe reach the mid 70's when we get over there.....That would be wonderful.I sure could do with a little warmth.I dont think my hands have been warm since September.
Five days to go and I'm still not packed.I have things for Sophie sitting in her suitcase, that's an improvement.I have gone through her pile of clothes 3 times now and it does get smaller and smaller.I hate packing and I always pack too much. One thing I did find out ,is that even though you use those space bags and just because you squeeze all the air out doesnt mean it weighs less.Well...DUH!!
Speaking of David he,Jacob and Annalisa drove down to Cincinnati to get my mom and bring her back here.It sure has been quite around here, almost spooky quiet.I have been tempted to turn on the TV just for noise. Then I thought "Are you nuts?Enjoy the quiet because in about a week you'll be bagging for it." So with just me and Kate here we have had a very nice day.Cleaning up and trying to organize suitcases.Of course I have wanted to strangle her more then once for telling me I dont need this or I dont need that, but it was still a nice day.
