There was just the two of us then one night.........oops....forgot where I was! Anyway....David and I will be married 29 years this St Patrick Day....wow has it been that long? Geezz....Anywho....we had the 4 boys(that army helicopter mentallity at works said to him "just one more time for that girl I know I can do it")then the daughter came 'thank goodness for that one' and then we thought thats enough. But nope....we didnt stop, we adopted Annalisa from China in Jan. 2005.
But since then we have decided to return to China and get a sister for Annalisa the resident diva/princess in training. Now those of you who know us know how old the kids are and well.....it's like I have 3 families. The first family consists of the older boys 27,25,and soon to be 22.The first, two DJ and Kevin are married and now Christopher will join the married ranks this July.THEN the second family..... Jacob 17 and Katlyn 14 and the third little family of mine is Annalisa who will be 4 in a couple of days.
About a year and half ago I got to thinking(which isnt always a good thing)and decided that in a couple of years Kate will be going off to school and Annalisa will become basically an only child.I didnt think that would be fair to her because the other kids got to have some one to harrass growing up and 'I' didnt want to be the target of her boredom. Before I could bring that thought up to David he says "we should go back one more time" So we did/are soon, very soon.
We started the process again in Oct 2007 thinking we would have just a 6 month wait like we did with Annalisa.....But this time we decided to go the special needs route. And we are so glad we did. On Oct 2nd of 2007 we recieved a call from CCAI asking if we would look over the file of a little heart baby.Well....heck... one look at her picture and I/we fell in love. Her Chinese name is Hong Bei Bei (sounds like BayBay). Her special needs is TOF (Tetralogy of Fallot) which is a hole in her heart(which is repaired) and also her heart, liver and spleen are on the opposite side of where they should be.She is very healthy now and has been living with a foster family in Nanchang,China since Dec 06 right after her heart surgery.
Now .....fast forward and as of today we have our plane tickets and are waiting. Why is it always hurry up and wait? We leave on Feb 14th land in HongKong stay one day,do the touristy thing, then fly to Nanchang where I believe we are handed Bei Bei(soon to be Sophie) on the 18th. After we stay a week in Nanchang(to do MORE paperwork) we fly to Guangzhou(Gwan joe) for a few days to do more paperwork. Then on the 29th we head home via Tokyo.
So the whole purpose of this blog is to let those who want can follow along. You never know what will happen when David and I travel anything can happen.Like getting really sick and wishing someone would put me out of misery(but people had too much fun making fun of me to oblige) to David being chased down the street by a little old shoe shine lady waving her stool at him to stop so she could shine his brown suede shoes!
